OBITUARY: Melvin Arthur Cook

Melvin Arthur Cook, 82, Topeka, died Sat., Dec. 6, 2008, at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1925, at Topeka. Melvin was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He was married to Norma Lee Hollenbeck on Aug. 12, 1946, at Topeka. She preceded him in death n Aug. 9, 1994. Surviving are a daughter: Lori L. Goodman of Napanee, Ontario, Canada; a brother: Charles Cook of Topeka; and a granddaughter: Afton Harder of Topeka. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs., Dec. 11, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Interment in Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont. Melvin will lie in state after 4:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel.
