Max Saysoff, Jr., 85, of Topeka passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born February 26, 1936 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Max Saysoff, Sr. and Catherine Penn Saysoff. Max served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He later worked as a meatcutter for Safeway Grocery Stores. Following his retirement from Safeway, Max owned Max’s Wholesale Tackle at Valley Falls for over 25 years. He was a member of the Meatcutter’s Union, the Moose Lodge #555, Post #400 of the American Legion, and the VFW Goodyear Chapter.
He was married to Shirley Henry on November 3, 1955 in California. She survives at their home in Topeka.
Other survivors include two sons, Russell (Becky) Saysoff and Herbert Saysoff, both of Topeka; daughters, Ellen Monhollon (Steve) of Topeka and Katherine Foster (Jeff) of Ozawkie; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Davidson Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted at the conclusion of the visitation. To leave the family a message, please visit www.davidsonfuneral.com.
