Max Millard Menges, 75, of Topeka, died Sunday, August 20, 2017.

He was born August 3, 1942 in Abilene, KS, the son of Elmer and Frances Menges.

Max attended Abilene Public Schools, Hutchinson Community College and received his BBA from Wichita State University. Throughout his working life Max was always an accountant and retired as an Accountant III with the State of Kansas. He was also a member of the Kansas Air National Guard.

Max was Past Master of Orient Lodge # 51 A.F & A.M. and a member of the Ritualistic Cast and Legion of Honor in the Topeka Arab Shrine. He also was fond of flower gardening, traveling and family.

Max is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughters Becky and Cynthia, step-children, Craig and Kim, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 2 brothers, Gerald and Ronald.

In keeping with Max's wishes cremation is planned. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence, Topeka.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24 at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 S.W. Burlingame Rd., Topeka, KS 66611.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arab Shrine Travel Fund or Countryside United Methodist Church.
