OBITUARY: Max E. Garbe
Max E. Garbe, 71, of Valley Falls died Monday, May 23, 2005 at McComb, MS . He was born Dec. 19, 1933 at Atchison, the son of Edward F. and Forence Hamon Garbe.
Max was a farmer/stockman northeast of Valley Falls. He was a member of the Coal Creek Un. Methodist Church; Meriden Lodge # 236, A.F. & A.M.; Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies; Arab Shrine Temple; and Jefferson County Ducks Unlimited.
On August 4, 1962 he was united in marriage to Linda S. Powell at Wellston, OK.
Surviving are his wife, Linda, of the home; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: Joe and Lisa Garbe and their daughter, Sheriden, of Arlington, TX; and Clay and Angela Garbe and their 2 daughters, Grace and Gretchen, of Overland Park, KS.
Max was cremated. Private interment of cremains will be in Valley Falls Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thurs., May 26, 2005 at their Valley Falls residence.
