OBITUARY: Mrs. Marylyn Elizabeth Schodde
Mrs. Marylyn Elizabeth Schodde, age 71, died tragically February 3, 2006, in a fire at her residence in Topeka. Marylyn, or Toosie as she was sometimes called, was born Marylyn Elizabeth Corley, January 29, 1935, in Galveston, Texas. She graduated from Ball High School in Galveston. She attended the University of Houston. On February 5, 1955, at Galveston, Texas, she married Rudolph "Buddy" Schodde, an executive with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and they had four children. Marylyn and family lived wherever Buddy's work took him which was McAllen, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Houston, Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas and finally Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son, Frederick Schodde. Survivors include her children Dietrich Schodde and his wife, Jean, Eric Schodde and Elizabeth Schodde, all of Topeka; granddaughters Sara Schodde and Kelly Schodde of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and brother Edmond Corley of Kerrville, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 SW 8th Ave. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas.
