Mary Lou Stickney, age 87, of Topeka passed away Friday morning, February 1, 2019 at the Midland Hospice in Topeka. Mary Lou was born April 13, 1931 in Topeka the daughter of Fred and Luella Andres Siegel. She grew up in Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School. She married Arthur Edward Stickney November 11, 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death August 20, 2005. Mary Lou attended the Jefferson Assembly of God Church. While living in Springfield, Missouri, she was an active member of Oasis at the Park Crest First Assembly of God. She also assisted with the day care, cooked, catered and drove a bus while being a member of the church.
She is survived by a son, Art Stickney of Topeka; seven grandchildren, Derrick, Cricket, Matthew, Eric, Heather, Jessica and Chelsee; 17 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sons, Stevie, Donnie and Ronnie; brothers, Vernon and Kenneth Siegel and sisters, Helen Freedland, Lillian Quast and Lucille Carter.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jefferson Assembly of God in Meriden. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery. She will lie in state Wednesday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson Assembly of God Church.
