Mary E. (Kessinger) Rickel, 87, Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018.
She was born June 12, 1931, in Mayetta, Kansas, the daughter Cyrus and Dora (Ent) Kessinger. She graduated from Hoyt High School in 1949. She was employed by the state of Kansas for 35 years.
On May14, 1949, she married Donald S. Rickel. He survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Hopeck; two brothers, Larry and Karl Kessinger; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Art Phillips and two daughters, Cheryl and Donna.
Funeral services will be 10 am Friday, October 5, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 6pm until 7 pm.
