OBITUARY: Mrs. Mary R. Self
Mrs. Mary Ruth Self, 88, Topeka, died Wed., Oct. 24, 2007, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Topeka, the daughter of Varnum R. and Mary (Branner) Parkhurst. Mary was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.
She was married to Marion F. Self on Jan. 27, 1945, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1989.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law: Kathy and Dennis Switzky; a sister: Rose Robinson; and grandchildren: Drew and Stephanie Switzky and Darchelle and Brad Martin, all of Topeka.
Committal services will be at 1:30 PM, Fri., Oct. 26, 2007, at the Topeka Cemetery Garden Chapel. Mary will lie in state from 3:00 to 8:30 PM Thursday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence.
