Mary Kathryn Fitzgerald Mulanax-Sadler, 89, of Silver Lake, KS passed away on January 12, 2024. Mary was born on February 21, 1934, on a dairy farm in Mayetta, Kansas. She was born at home on a cold winter night to Edward Fitzgerald and Marcella Hannah Fitzgerald. Mary was an only child until the age of 7, when the family grew to include another daughter, Margie Ann in December 1940, who is now deceased.
Mary married William Francis Mulanax on September 26, 1953. Their union produced six children; Sharon Newton, deceased; Stephen Mulanax, deceased; Larry Mulanax, deceased; Darlene Irvin (Rick); Martin Bud Mulanax; and Ronnie Mulanax. Mary had fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
On April 15, 2009, Mary Married Ron Sadler, he survives in the home.
Mary graduated from Mayetta High School, Mayetta Ks in 1951, from a class of 12. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka.
In the early 1970’s Mary went back to work in various positions including a nurse’s aide, a switchboard operator, and eventually a bookkeeper. Mary settled into a computer programing position with the Kansas State Grain Inspection on March 17, 1973 and remained there until she retired in March of 2009.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, January 18th at Davidson Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 19th, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
