Mary Ann Kirk

Mary Ann Kirk, 94, of Topeka passed away on Wednesday, May, 31st. Mary was born on November 5th, 1928 in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota to Charles & Olivia Koprek. She graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. In 1947, Mary married Leon Kirk at Sacred Heart Church in Sauk Rapids. Together they had three children.

Mary was a long time member of Assumption Catholic Church and taught CCD for over 30 years. She was involved in Sandwich Ministry/Let’s Help and Warm Hearts at Hayden. For 25 years, Mary also volunteered at St. Francis Hospital. For 28 years, Mary worked at 501 school district in food service. She retired in 2005.

Preceding Mary in passing are her parents; sister Jane Koprek; step-brother, Tom Cusciotta her daughter, Jane Ellen Hendrickson; and her husband of 59 years. Mary is survived by two children, Linda Glasgow (Jerry) and Michael Kirk (Pam). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jeff (Kerry) Glasgow; Justin (Tonya) Glasgow; Brad (Patty) Kirk; Matt (Abby) Kirk; Jason (Kelly) Hendrickson; Jeremy (Gena) Hendrickson; as well as Jeff Hendrickson, husband of Jane. Mary also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 7th, from 9:30-10:30am at Mother Teresa Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46TH Street, Topeka. A Rosary and Mass will follow. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Topeka Library, and Mother Teresa Catholic Church.
