OBITUARY: Mary Jane Molinar
Mary Jane Molinar, 73, Topeka, died Sun., Jan. 8, 2012, at a local hospital. She was born June 24, 1938, in San Antonio, TX, the daughter of Ernest Torres Sauceda, Sr. and Mary Villanueva Sauceda Lopez. Mary Jane received an Associate's Degree from San Diego Junior College. She was a food service manager for U.S.D. 501, before retiring. She had been involved with the Shawnee County Girls Softball Assoc.; was a Girl Scout leader for many years; was a Cub Scout Den Mother; and had volunteered at the Community Blood Center. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing for many years. Mary Jane was married to Florentino M. Molinar on Nov. 7, 1956, in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2001. Surviving are her children: Mario A. Molinar of Austin, TX, Franchesca L. Lucero of Frisco, TX, Andre' M. Molinar and Pierre E. Molinar of Topeka; siblings: Ernest Sauceda, Jr., Dale Meyer, and Rick Sauceda all of San Antonio, TX; 7 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Marie Meyer. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thurs., Jan. 12, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Mary Jane will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wed., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
