Mary Ann Graybeal

October 19, 1938 — December 21, 2024

Topeka, Kansas

Mary Ann Graybeal, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born the daughter of Eugene Jacob Denning and Helena Lorraine Leinacker Denning, on October 19, 1938, in Topeka, Kansas.

Mary attended Assumption Grade School, East Topeka Junior High and Hayden High School. She was a homemaker while her children were small, later working many years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in the Comptrollers Office/Mail Room. Afterwards, she worked at the Northern Hills Junior High cafeteria, and the Kansas Legislature.

Mary was a sweet and kind-hearted person who was loved by all she met. She loved being outdoors at her pool, inviting family, neighbors, and many others to come on over for a swim. She enjoyed cooking, always trying new recipes, and her favorite food was a regular McDonald’s hamburger. She was pure fun to be around, and was a little on the ornery side. She loved music, going dancing, having fun, and she loved her family.

Mary is survived by her five children, Debra Bulas and her companion Tom, Paula (Merrill) Coleman, Vincent Hutchison and his companion Jordan, Russell Hutchison, Guy (Darla) Hutchison; her seven grandchildren; April, Kristal, Bradley, Amy, Zakary, Paige, and Bailey; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Diane Turner of Leawood, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Paul Denning; late husband, Curtis Graybeal in 2000, and her late companion of many years, Donald Malloy in 2023.

A small private family memorial service will be held on January 3, 2025 at Parker-Price and Davidson Funeral Home to honor her life. Mary will be buried at Half-Day Cemetery in Elmont, Kansas.

We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
