Mary A. Canter

Mary Alice Canter (76) of Topeka, KS passed away Monday, September 9, 2019.

Mary Alice was the second daughter of Ancile and Alice May Cummins. She was born on June 6, 1943 and was preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters and a brother.

Mary grew up in Wichita, KS with her four sisters and two brothers. She was known as the little red head. She loved to meet people. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and she loved to make them laugh. She loved to tell stories and she would end her stories with "true story." The family would love for those who knew her to share a favorite story in the comments below.

Mary is survived by her three children; Cindy (Michael) Garrison, Ron (Jeni) Canter, Jr., Michelle Wertz, her siblings Judy Short, Betty (Bill) Argyle, Edward (Geneva) Cummins, Norma (Clarence) Alexander, and nine grandchildren, Rachel, Jake, Geoff, Joshua, Alyssa, Parker, Travis, Jack, and Jessica.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A celebration of life ceremony will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Davidson Funeral Home at 1035 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
