Mary Arlene Hampton, 82, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009.
She was born November 1, 1927 in Topeka, the daughter of John and Wilma (Downs) Csitkovits. She was a former member of American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at the Topeka Rescue Mission and Meals on Wheels.
Mary married Carl E. Hampton on November 2, 1945 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Richter (Kenneth), Topeka and Marcia Simecka (Jerry), Tecumseh; two brothers, Gayle and David Csitkovits; and a grandson, Jeff Simecka, Topeka.
Mrs. Hampton was cremated. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Private inurnment will be at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas, Topeka, KS 66608.
