Mary Ann Perry, 71, died Tues., July 29, 2008, at her Topeka residence.
She was born March 10, 1937 in Wetmore, KS, the daughter of Floyd L. and Maude (Metcalf) Finner. She attended Wetmore High School and graduated from Washburn University.
Mary Ann was a member of KHCA, co-founder of Topeka Activity Directors Association. Along with her daughters, she established the non-profit organization, Neighborhood Missions. She was an administrator at Brighton Place West for 20 years. She worked in the health care profession for 30 years.
Mary Ann married Kenneth James Perry on September 5, 1953 at Holton, KS. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two grandchildren, Hope and Craig Blassingame. Survivors include five children, Vickie Puff, Hernando, MS, Bev Blassingame, Linda Huntsman, Ron Perry, and Don Perry all of Topeka; a brother, Clyde D. Finner, Daytona Beach, FL; two sisters, Rosalie Vouga, Harrisville, PA, and Lois Schlicker, Topeka; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren with two on the way.
Funeral services will be a 1 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Mrs. Perry will lie in state from 1-9 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Interment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka.
