Mary Ann "Maudie" Netson, 69, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Midland Hospice House, Topeka.
She was born July 2, 1945, Topeka, the daughter of James Obediah and Lucille Marie (Bartlett) Birdsley.
Mary Ann was employed by Rolling Hills Nursing and Assisted Living, Topeka, retiring in 2006.
She attended Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, Topeka.
Mary Ann married Gary L. Netson on October 5, 1968 in Topeka. He survives of the home. Other survivors include three children, Brian J. (Tammy) Blakely, Randy W. Blakely and Jennifer (David) Meseke; her mother, Lucille Birdsley, all of Topeka four grandchildren, A.J. (Jordyn) Davis, Oak Grove, KY, Madison A. Meseke, Brynn R. Meseke and Lucy E. Meseke, all of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Garrett L. Netson in 1971; and a brother, James E. Birdsley.
Mary Ann enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, shopping for shoes, purses and night gowns.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery, NW 35th and Menoken Rd., Topeka. Mary Ann will lie in state after 3 p.m., Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
