OBITUARY: Mary Alice Spencer
Mary Alice Spencer, 82, Topeka, died Fri., March 31, 2006, at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1923, at Hoyt the daughter of Robert Frank and Cora C. (Laird) Miller.
Mary had lived in Calif. from 1947 to 1951, when she moved back to Topeka. She worked as a nurses' aide at the Santa Fe Hosp. 1953-58. In 1958, she returned to Calif. and worked in several hospitals, returning to Topeka in 1968. She worked as a cook and waitress in various places upon her return to Topeka including Blue Cross / Blue Shield.
She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America # 148 and a former member of Rebekah Lodge # 152.
Survivors include 2 brothers: Robert L. Miller of Roseville, CA and Frank E. Miller of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wed., April 5, 2006, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mary will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tues. at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
