Marvin Joseph Koch
Marvin Joseph Koch, 70, Topeka, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born June 11, 1942, at Seneca, son of Firmin Joseph and Cynthia Mary (Feldkamp) Koch. He graduated from Baileyville High School in 1961.
He served in the Kansas National Guard which was mobilized in 1968, to serve in Vietnam. Marvin was a member of Local # 101, Hoisting and Portable Engineering, retiring from Herrman's in 2004.
Marvin was married to Treva Williams on October 16, 1971, in Topeka.
Surviving are his wife: Treva of the home; children: Timothy (Sandra) of Berryton, Darcy (Jeremy) of Topeka, Don of Topeka, Carrie (Greg) Sunday of Topeka, and Mark (Ashley) of Carbondale; his mother: Cynthia of Seneca; grandchildren: Lindsay (Todd), Matt (Morgan), Brady, Payden, Jacob, Caleb, Serenity, Kendall, Makinna, and Raelyn; great-grandchildren: Dayton, Layla, and Kaden; siblings: Cletus Koch (Barbara) of Marion, TX, Dorothy Kramer (Don) of Marysville, Betty Ann Dalinghaus (Rick Weber) of Seneca, Danny Koch (Anne) of Gladstone, MO, Elaine Mock of Yorba Linda, CA, and Arlene Cafarelli (Jim) of Valley Center, CA; sister-in-law: Edna Koch of Kansas City, KS; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and oldest brother, Galen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman, Topeka. A Fort Riley U.S. Army detail will conduct military honors at Lynn Creek Cemetery, Berryton. Marvin will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tuesday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM, and the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
