Marvin Andrew Hart, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1943, his birth father is Elton Andrew Hart. His mother Marie Louise Simpson and father Edward A. Simpson together raised Marvin in North Topeka. Marvin graduated from Seaman High School in 1961. He married Brenda Kay Bennett on June 14, 1964 in Topeka and together they shared a 59-year marriage. He worked as a Warehouser for 43 years, 3 months, 2 weeks and 3 days at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Topeka. He was a member of the United Steel Worker Union #307, volunteered on Memorial weekend handing out flags at Rochester Cemetery and was a proud, lifelong resident of North Topeka.
A devoted family man that coached his son’s baseball team and his daughter’s softball team while they were growing up. Years later, he loved attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities. He would be the first one to cheer at their sporting events and the first to clap at their theatre performances. It didn’t matter the activity, he would always give them a hearty “Alright, Alright, Alright” because, as long as it brought them joy, it brought him even more joy.
Marvin enjoyed going to car races with friends and family at the Midget Nationals in Belleville, Chili Bowl in Tulsa and World of Outlaw Races in Knoxville. He attended many local car shows and cruise nights with friends. He looked forward to his Tuesday lunch with friends and afternoon shop talk with buddies.
He is survived by his children, Brian Hart (Deidre) and Loriann Marx (Dan) both of Olathe; grandchildren, Derrick Hart (Amy), Dylan Hart, Bryce Hart, Luke Marx (Albree), Logan Marx (Callie) and Lance Marx (Caitlin); seven great-grandchildren, Elliott, Noah, Liam, Miles, Stella, Wren and Dawson; sisters, Sharon Dechand (Ed), Norma Little (Tim); brother, Dale Simpson and a host of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
