OBITUARY: Marvin Dale Lavin, Sr.
Marvin Dale Lavin, Sr., 77, Hutchison, formerly of Topeka died Tues., Dec. 15, 2009, at his home. He was born May 16, 1932, in Tecumseh, the son of John E. and Hattie M. (Morris) Lavin. He retired from the U.S. Military in 1994. Dale was a mechanical engineer for the State of Kansas, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Hutchinson VFW Post 1631. Surviving are a son: John E. Lavin; a daughter: Debra Mullin; a brother: Lloyd Lavin; 3 sisters: Nellie Plumberg , Jeannie Rich, and Virginia "Fern" Yerta; 6 grandchildren: Misty, Joshua, Jason, Cody, Jarrett, and Marina; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin "Dale" Lavin, Jr. Committal services will be at 11:00 AM, Mon., Dec. 21, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth, Topeka with military honors by Philip Billard Post # 1650, VFW. Dale will lie in state after 2:00 PM, Sun., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sun. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 7611 State Line Road, Ste. 100, K>C>,
