Marvin Morris Cramer Jr., 88, passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 27'", 2024. He was born July 5, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to Marvin and Della Cramer (Bateson).
Marvin is survived by his wife of 18 years, Joletta L Cramer (Eraas); his three daughters, Terri L Cramer, Cindi L Stover (David) of Topeka, and Roxi L Smith of Tulsa; sister Connie L Cramer and brother Ronnie L Cramer (Tina); grandchildren, Michael Ronin, Amanda Smith, Alex Stover, Carlie Phillip,. and Shellie Smith; and great-grandchildren, Michael Scott Ronin, Jr., Kaia June Smith-Sexton, Miliana Mae Stover, Abbie Gorrell and Tyler Gorrell. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard L Cramer.
Marvin lived his entire life in North Topeka and was a proud fan of all Kansas sports teams. Shortly after graduating from Topeka High School in 1953, he married his high school sweetheart Connie J. Cramer (Otto). He then went to work for Meadow Gold - Beatrice Foods for many years before beginning at Graves Truck Line. He finished his career driving for various other carriers before retiring from Consolidated Freightways (CF) in 1997. After retirement, he and his wife, Joletta, owned and operated Joletta's Bar for 20 years.
Marvin built his family home in 1970 in the evenings after work. He resided there 54 years. He loved his home and spent many of his last days on home improvements. Marvin enjoyed working in his yard and growing vegetables in his garden. He loved to travel, take his chances at the casino, and buy new music-playing clocks from his favorite vendors. Marvin had an ornery personality and was always brightening the room with a joke. He was a well respected man and loved by those who knew him.
Service will be held at Parker-Price and Davidson Mortuary in North Topeka 245 NW Independence Avenue Topeka, Kansas 66608 on Monday, May 6 at 1:00pm. The family will greet friends Sunday, May 5th from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Marvin will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
