Marlene S. Shelley

Marlene S. Shelley, 69, of Topeka passed away on February 17, 2020.   She was born February 5, 1951 in Lafayette, Indiana, one of twelve children born to George and Edna Bray Graves.   Marlene was raised and attended school in her hometown.   She attended St. John Episcopal Church in Lafayette.   She spent most of her adulthood in Topeka. Marlene did stay from time to time with her mother in Colorado Springs.   She loved to cook, play bingo, garden and plant flowers.   She always had a cat or dog and enjoyed birds. In recent years, Marlene part of North Rock Baptist Temple with Larry.

Survivors include her companion Larry Webb of Topeka; daughter, Michelle Oakes in Sterling, Colorado; siblings, Linda Alexander and husband Duane of Lafayette, IN, Lorraine “Kay” Boneff, Dale Graves of Indianapolis, IN, Greg Graves and wife Erin of Clearwater, FL, Daryl Graves of Kansas City, MO and Bill Pruett of Crawfordsville, IN; and two sons, Tim and Michael Shelley;

She was preceded in death by a daughter Starla Shelley and her siblings, Carolyn, Patty, Judy and Mondas.

Marlene was cremated. Memorial services will be held at North Rock Baptist Temple in Topeka at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Inurnment will be held later at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.   Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka is assisting the family.  Davidsonfuneral.com
