Marlene L. Funk , age 84, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday morning, October 24, 2018 at her home in North Topeka. Marlene was born June 10, 1934 in Topeka the daughter of Everett and Flora Randall Disney. Marlene graduated from Topeka High School in 1952. She worked at Payless Shoes, Mike’s IGA and Mr. B’s Grocery throughout her life. She married William “Bill” Funk August 20, 2005. They lived in Lakeview, Arkansas for a few years before moving back to Topeka. She was a past member of the Red Hat Ladies group.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Elliott in 2005; two sisters, Ruby Fountaine and Betty Ashley along with a son in law, Calvin Mohn. She is survived by her husband, Bill Funk; two sons, Layton (Laura) Lewis of Meriden and Tony (Claire) Lewis of Topeka; two daughters, Linda (Robert) Mathews of Tecumseh and Connie Mohn of Topeka; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorial visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be at the Topeka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Great Lakes Hospice and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
