Marlene (Murray) Campbell, 80, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023.
She was born September 5, 1942, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of George F. and Alice L. (Aley) Murray. She was a 1960 graduate of Topeka High School, then attended Stormont-Vail School of Nursing. She then worked as a Registered Nurse at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She enjoyed her time working in the Emergency Room and often talked of the many trauma cases she worked.
Marlene married Charles L. Campbell on May 3, 1963 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Charles "Charlie" (Kay) Campbell of Topeka, and David "Dave" Campbell (Darlene Duncan, companion) of Topeka, one grandchild; and a brother, Steve (Patty) Murray of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marlene enjoyed her many years as a homemaker after her children were born. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed reading, garage sales, her many cats, and was a lifelong Elvis fan.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, Kansas.
