Mark Rollin may, 54, of Topeka, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his home after a long and courageous battle against cancer. He was preceded in death by long time companion, Connie. Mark was the son of Richard and Evelyn (Robb) May. He was the oldest of five children. Three brothers and a sister; Randy May, Mick May, and wife, Debi, Rusty May and wife, Laurie, all of Topeka, Joan Tucker Hunt and husband, Lewis of Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews, three great nieces and two great nephews.
Mark graduated from Seaman High School in 1973. He received an Associates degree from Allen County Community College in 1975. He then went to work for Gulf Oil out of Houston, TX for five years. Two and a half of those years he worked off shore in Lagos, Nigeria.
Mark continued his education and specialized in the field of HVAC and graduated Austin School of Technology, Austin, TX with a degree in Heating and Air-Conditioning. He owned his own business for approximately 20 years in Austin, TX.
During the mid-2000's, Mark relocated back to the Topeka area where he established himself as a business owner once again in the field of Heating and Air-Conditioning. Mark worked until the end of his life servicing customers throughout his hometown.
He was a member of Faith Family Life Centre. He was a member of the Kings Team at his church. He loved all sports and was an avid Kansas University basketball fan.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Faith Family Life Center, Topeka. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. Mr. May will lie in state after 2 p.m., Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Service, 2231 SW Wanamaker Road, Suite 202, Topeka, KS 66614 or to Royal Rangers, c/o Faith Family life Centre, 3710 NW Topeka Blvd, 66617-1127.
