Marjorie J. Cropp, 90, of Topeka, passed away Fri., Feb. 5, 2010 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Oct. 17, 1919 in Osage City, KS, the daughter of Edward D. and Helen A (Begbie) Moore. She was reared in the Arvonia and Reading communities and graduated from Hartford High School.
She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Topeka.
Marjorie married Melvin Dee Cropp on Feb. 8, 1941 in Lebo, KS. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her son, Russell (Kathy) Cropp; her daughter, Mary Brown; grandchildren, Robin Brown, Rhonda (John) Burghart, Greg Cropp, Doug (Amy) Cropp and Chad Cropp; great-grandchildren, Jordan Maxwell, Eric Brown, Devin Burghart-Martin, Baylie Martin, Cason Cropp, Ian Cropp, Brianna Cropp, Lily Cropp, and Jeremiah Cropp; and her sister, Colleen Doffing and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mildred Miles and Edna White and her son-in-law, Dick Brown.
Mrs. Cropp will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wed., Feb. 10, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thurs. Feb. 11, 2010 at the Second Presbyterian Church, 210 NW Menninger Rd., Topeka, KS 66617-1499. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Thurs. at the Reading Cemetery, Reading, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, or to Midland Care Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
