Marjorie E. Kemp, 70, Topeka, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. Mrs. Kemp was a Topeka resident most of her life. She was born June 27, 1932, in Coffey, Mo., the daughter of James Ralph and Nona Mays Wells. She married Robert Morris Kemp Jr. on June 13, 1949, in Meridian, Miss. He died Oct. 13, 1988. Surviving are four daughters, Vicki Chilton, Topeka, Connie Boydston, Topeka, Beverly Boyd, Topeka, and Virginia Watson, Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Janice Proehl, Gilbert, Ariz.; a brother, James Ronald Wells, Chandler, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were two sons, James "Jason" Kemp, who died Oct. 1, 1988, and Robert M. "Buddy" Kemp III, who died March 23, 2003. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday , at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Kemp will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice House, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606-2800.
