OBITUARY: Marjorie Eleanor Feleay
Marjorie Eleanor Feleay passed away Sunday, May 17th, 2009, at Midland Hospice. She was born in Manhattan, Kansas, on December 21, 1910, to Clarence and Beryl Rickman Howenstine. She attended high school in Manhattan graduating in 1929. She entered Nursing School in Manhattan, graduating in 1932. She retired, after 20 years of service, from Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas in 1976.
Marjorie married Paul Franklin Feleay in Manhattan in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1995. They attended the Christian Church in Manhattan and Bonner Springs until they moved to Topeka in 1993, where they joined Seaman Congregational Church. She had always been a very active member in her church. She had helped with Sunday school, choir and various women's activities throughout her lifetime.
Her sister, Lucille Winter, and her brother, Jack Howenstine, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Richard Feleay (Bea) of Topeka and Jim Feleay (Dannetta) of Des Moines, Iowa, seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be on Friday, May 29th, at Seaman Congregational Church from 6-8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, May 30th, at the church beginning at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be sent to Seaman Congregational Church, 2036 NW Taylor, Topeka, KS 66608.
