Marjorie E. Beems, 80, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at a local hospital.
Marjorie was born December 25, 1926 in Topeka, the daughter of Everett and Ursula (Ellison) Zinn. She grew up in Grantville and graduated from Perry High School. She attended Clark's Business School and graduated in 1951 from the University of Kansas with a degree in Accounting.
Marjorie married Harold Milton Beems on March 29, 1956 in Grantville. They resided in Topeka. She and her husband owned and operated Beems Electric.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years; son, William Beems, Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Linda Burgen, Eskridge, Julia Miller, Denver, CO, Nancy Seifert, St. Peters, MO, Mary Carson, White Hall, AR; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Beems, Topeka; brother, Norman Zinn, Omaha, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harley Zinn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery. Marjorie will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
