OBITUARY: `Marion Edward Huxman
Marion Edward Huxman, 77, Topeka died Mon., May 15, 2006, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born May 26, 1928, at Pretty Prairie, KS the son of John Walter and Myrl Estella (Bixler) Huxman.
From 1947 to 1949, Marion served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, KY. He worked for 35 years in construction, including 13 years as a concrete finisher and 22 years as office manager primarily for May, Ransom, and Sheetz, retiring in 1985.
Marion was married to Donna Denese Lott on June 29, 1951 at Hill City. She survives of the home.
Also surviving are a daughter, Melanie Huxman-Hickok and Jim, of Ulysses; a son, Mark E. Huxman, of Topeka; 2 brothers: Robert Huxman of Lancaster, CA and Joseph Huxman of Russell; a grandson, Mark E. Huxman, Jr. and Lindsay, of Topeka; and a great-grandson, Collin E. Huxman, of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thurs., May 18, 2006, at First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 S.W. Gage Blvd., Topeka. Interment will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marion will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence after 3:00 p.m., Wed., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
