Marilyn Romine

Marilyn L. Romine, 74, of Topeka passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017.   She was born February 19, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia.   Marilyn lived the majority of her life in the Topeka area. She worked for over twenty years for Columbian Title Company prior to retiring in the 1990’s. She volunteered at the Topeka Public Library and for the United Way during her retirement.   She was a longtime member of the Great Plains Balloon Club.   Marilyn attended Northland Christian Church with her family. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s concerts and dance performances.

Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Appenfeller (Chelsea) and Douglas Appenfeller (Heather) of Topeka; two brothers, Paul Preston (Karen) San Mateo, California and George Preston (Sydney) of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephew, Maria, Mary, Kathy, Asher, Madeline and Rebecca.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and “Tonie” Preston and a sister, Joan Cerstvik.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home.   Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.   The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
