OBITUARY: Marilyn Joyce Kraemer
Marilyn Joyce (Zicha) Kraemer, 71, Topeka, passed away Thurs., April 10, 2008. She was born on Feb. 17, 1937, in Odessa, WA, the daughter of George and Rebecca (Cordes) Zicha. She grew up in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School in 1954. She has lived in Topeka since 1956. She retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas as supervisor of the mailroom in 1986, after 16 years with the company.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member and Past Matron of Topeka Chapter # 462, O.E.S.; and she served as Grand Guardian of Kansas, International Order of Job's Daughters in 1982-83.
Marilyn married Lyle Kraemer on November 1, 1958, in Beatrice, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, Virgil Zicha, and two sisters, Marjorie Giese and Florence Wilson.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl "CJ" Crawford and husband, Jay, Topeka; sons: Mark Kraemer, Eudora, KS, Steven Kraemer, Kelly Kraemer and Kenneth Kraemer, all of Topeka; four grandsons, Ande Davis and wife, Karli, of Mankato, MN, Tony Davis and wife, Nydia, and stepson Isaac of Monterey, CA, Brian Kraemer of Eudora and Aaron Kraemer of Lawrence; sister, Maxine Divito, and sister-in-law, Eunice Zicha, of Spokane, WA; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., April 16, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, followed by Eastern Star Services conducted by Loyal Chapter # 176, O.E.S. Interment in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Marilyn will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Arab Shrine Temple Children's Travel Fund c/o Arab Shrine Temple AAONMS, 1305 S.
