Marie R. Mcmaster

Marie R. McMaster, 99, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009. She was born January, 17, 1910, to Tom and Carrie Underwood. On July 3, 1936, she married Myrrl McMaster, in Eskridge, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1961.



Marie was an avid gardener and enjoyed going to and having garage sales. She also enjoyed spending much of her time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, and in her younger years, she was always up for an adventure.



Surviving are daughter, JoAnn (Ken) Frost, of Topeka; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.



Marie was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Johnson.



Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Mt. Hope Cemetery. She will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.



In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606-2800.
