Maria E. Gonzalez

Maria E. Gonzalez, age 79, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka.  Maria was born July 23, 1942 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  Her family moved to the United States when she was 14.  She married Paul Castillo.  They later divorced.  She married Simon Gonzalez.  He survives.  Maria attended Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.  Maria enjoyed crocheting, watching old classic movies and her novellas, listening to music, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren, telling them stories.

Maria is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Simon Gonzalez; three sons, Paul Castillo, Jr. of Las Angelas, CA, Javier (Lourdes) Castillo of Arcadia, CA, and Rene Castillo of Topeka; three daughters, Lisandra (Abel) Macias of Azusa, CA, Blanca (Carlos) Herrera of Pomona, CA, and Rachel (Jose) Lara of Topeka; numerous brothers and sisters and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services will Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.  at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Services will be streamed live at the Davidson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Facebook page.  Memorials may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses through the Go Fund Me account:
