Marguerite A. Perez, (Bop or Babe) age 87, of Alma, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home in Alma. Marguerite was born February 26, 1934 in Loma Linda, CA the daughter of George and Symona (Valdez) Carson. She became the first female auto body painter in San Bernardino County, CA. She also refurbished R.V.’s. She recently worked at the Kansas State Capitol building. Marguerite attended Fellowship Bible Church.
Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Kelly Rubio-Merz of Alma; a brother, Daniel Lopez; four sisters, Mary Siqueiros, Rita Sweetland, Ella Avitto and Loraine Arnott; four grandchildren, Alyk (Ashley) Atkins, Giordan (Jarret) Rogers, A.J. Rubio and Lily Rubio; and four great grandchildren, Destiny, Valisity, Kinsley and Colton, and one on the way, Rowan.
Marguerite enjoyed birds, dogs, her coffee, being outdoors, animal prints and was a collector of all things. She also enjoyed talking on the phone with her sisters. She supported the Called to Greatness college ministry and the National Wildlife Federation. Marguerite had a friendly face with a warm smile for everyone.
