Marguerite M. Copp

Marguerite M. Copp, 90, of Topeka passed away on January 4, 2023.  She was born on March 18, 1932 at Elmira, New York the daughter of Elroy and Dorothy Sharp Henry.   She was raised on the family farm with her brothers and sisters.   Marguerite lived in New York and New Jersey before moving to Topeka in 1966.    She was a certified medical aide.   Marguerite worked at Hillhaven and Rolling Hills care centers in Topeka before retiring in 2014.    She was an animal lover.  If Marguerite found a lost or abandoned pet she would often feed and take care of them at her house.

She had attended Topeka Bible Church, loved to oil paint, enjoyed the Christmas holiday season because she enjoyed spending that time of year with her family.    She was a devoted grandmother.  Her grandkids often talk about vacations spent each summer with her and Grandpa Copp to New York.

She married Robert Levanduski on August 29, 1953.   They later divorced.   She was married to Richard Copp on August 15, 1968 at Bartlesville, OK.   Richard preceded her in death on February 23, 2008.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Pamela Christensen and husband Steven of Topeka; daughter, Roberta Copp of Topeka; two brothers, Robert Henry of Elmira, New York, Richard Henry of Little Egg Harbour, New Jersey; one sister, Jean Wiedman of Topeka; many very special grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and her longtime cat, Daniel.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Levanduski in 1958 and Alan Levanduski in 2003.
