Margie H. Mcguire

Margie H. McGuire, age 88, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.  Margie was born August 10, 1932 in Troy, Kansas the daughter of Edwin and Elsie (Coulson) Powers.  She grew up in Topeka attending Highland Park schools.  She worked as a manager at Caldwell’s Shoe Store in Downtown Topeka.  She later worked in home health.  Margie was a member of the Potwin Presbyterian Church and later attended First Assembly of God Church and recently Jefferson Assembly of God.  She was an active member of the Topeka Garden Club where she served as past president.  She volunteered at Capper’s Foundation and Oakland Greenhouse.  Margie was preceded in death by a son, Tim Smith.  She is survived by a son, Martin Smith of Meriden; four daughters, Diana Stone of Topeka, Debra Kay Cell of Meriden, Delores Garfrerick of Alpine, Alabama and Becky (Ron) Miron of Clarksville, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Smith of Topeka and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grantville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Cappers Foundation and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
