Margaret Lucille Wheeler
Margaret Lucille Wheeler, 74, Topeka, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Topeka. She was born March 7, 1930, in Diggins, Mo., the daughter of James and Mammie Cook Owens. Mrs. Wheeler owned and operated the Wheeler Caf in Eudora. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was a woman of very strong faith. She married Thomas Wheeler at Columbus, on April 13, 1947. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2003. Survivors include two sons, L. Thomas Wheeler, Topeka, and Garry Wheeler, Hoyt; three sisters, Elma Walker, Reed Springs, Mo., Maxine Cimino, Kansas City, Mo., and Ruby Agee, Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Pete Owens, Ozark, Mo., and Don Owens, Eudora; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hopewell Freewill Baptist Church in Tunas, Mo. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Tunas. She will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in north Topeka. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel.
