OBITUARY: Margaret Eloise Sewell
Margaret E. Sewell, 89, Topeka, died Sat., Oct. 9, 2010. She was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Topeka, the daughter of Bruce and Marguerite Mannen. She graduated from Topeka High School and Clark's Business School. She was a legal secretary until retirement. Margaret was a member of Potwin Presbyterian Church, Helena Chapter # 210, O.E.S., Legal Secretaries. IBEW #226 Women's Auxiliary, and Topeka High School Alumni Assoc. She was married to E. Frank Sewell on July 19, 1942. He preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Mannen. Surviving are a son: Frank and Jane Sewell; 3 granddaughters: Mary and Jim Charity, Becky Sewell, and Julie and Justin Clay; 2 great-grandchildren: Cameron and Caitlin; and a brother: Roy and Doris Mannen. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wed., Oct. 13, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., followed by Eastern Star Services conducted by Helena Chapter # 210, OES. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Margaret will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
