OBITUARY: Mabel Lorene Ginder
Mabel Lorene Ginder, 84, Topeka, died Thurs., Nov. 22, 2007, at Midland Hospice House. She was born June 20, 1923, in Topeka, the daughter of Milton Elwood and Ruby Ola (Wilson) Sayler.
Mabel had worked at Adams Business Forms and Morrell Packing; and was a partner in Gas and Shop. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral. She enjoyed all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Everyone loved her baked beans and Angel food cakes; lots of laughter, hugs and kisses. She was known for making "Mabel's Cookies" at the family business, Gas and Shop.
She married Jack F. Ginder on July 3, 1946, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1999. She was preceded in death by brothers: Marlin, Leon, Donald, Gene and Russell Dean; and a sister, Margaret Bullock.
Surviving are 3 daughters: Joyce Markham (Gaylon), Ronda Nelson (Brad) and Debra Hoffman (Craig); grandchildren: Rebecca Reese Richardson, Jolee Reese Spencer, Liza Hoffman, Matthew Hoffman, Brandon Nelson, Brooks Nelson, and Heath Markham; great-grandchildren: Brett, Lauren, Ty, London, Hunter, Kobe, Kaden, Aspen, Sierra, Savannah, Shelbi, and Skyler; a sister: Evelyn Sayler; and 2 sisters-in-law: Merce Sayler and Betty Fraker; all of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tues., Nov. 27, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Entombment will be in Penwell-Gabel Mausoleum. Mabel will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
