M. Vivian Johnson, 89, of Topeka, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011.
She was born April 7, 1922 in Volga, WV, the daughter of Astor L. and Mabel (McCoy) Diamond.
She attended Mission Hills AG Church as well as Faith Family Life Centre.
Vivian married Clarence Edward Johnson on July 7, 1940 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rhonda L. Thomas. Survivors include four daughters, Virginia L. Thomas and Susan M. (Kenneth) Jacobson both of Topeka, Mary (Don) Peoples, Mission, TX and Cindy A. (Raymond) Mefford, Cheyenne, WY; eight grandchildren, Rebecca L. Wiles; Dwayne, Steven, and Kathryn Peoples; Cynthia Kough and Andrew Jacobson; Phillip Mefford, and Ashley Whitehead; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd Diamond of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at First Assembly of God Church, 500 SW 27th St. Topeka, KS. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608 where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
