M. Lorene Wood, 70, Topeka, died Monday, March 17, 2003, at a Topeka hospice house.
Mrs. Wood was employed by Hallmark Cards.
She was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Benton County, Ark., to William and Dessie Elsie Drain Smith. She attended Wichita public schools.
Mrs. Wood was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and an Arab Shrine Patrol Lady.
She married Harvey C. Wood on May 9, 1949, in Fayetteville, Ark. He died on Sept. 4, 1999.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Swisher, Chanute, and Pauline Nottingham, Coweta, Okla.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Wood will lie in state at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children and sent in care of the Arab Shrine, 1305 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, 66612; or to Midland Hospice, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66606-2800.
