Darlene Lauber

M. Darlene Melton Lauber, 83, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018.   Darlene was born May 12, 1935 at Naponee, Nebraska the daughter of Hobart and Lula Woods Melton.   She attended Lakeview Church of The Nazarene.   Darlene’s husband Kenneth was a barber in the White Lakes area for many years. Darlene enjoyed watching Foxs News and Dr. Phil. She loved to collect, angels, lighthouses and Precious Moments figurines.

She was married to Kenneth Lauber on March 6, 1952 in Naponee.   Kenneth, Sr. passed away on November 24, 2008. Darlene and Kenneth moved to Topeka in the mid 1950’s.

Darlene is survived by her son, Kenneth Lauber, Jr. and wife Carrie of Topeka; four grandchildren, Jared and wife Jennifer, Steven, Kayla and her husband Scott and Isaiah; great-granddaughter; Alexis; and close friends, Nancy and David McNown of Topeka

Along with her husband and parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her son, Steven Lauber on May 17, 2012.

The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, beginning at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 2, 2018 prior to funeral services which will begin at 1:30 pm Friday. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N.
