Roberta Lynne Maples, 77, of Topeka passed away on Monday, October 16th, 2023. She was born on December 9th, 1945 to Loyd & Hazel Wildman (Dent) in Emporia, Kansas. In 1963, Lynne graduated from Burlington High School. In 1967, Lynne moved to Topeka, where she later married Lowell Maples. Together they had three children.
In 1999, Lynne retired from Rolling Hills Christian Church. She was a founding member of the church and was involved in Children’s Ministry, Sisters in Service and would play the piano & organ. Lynne will be remembered for her love of traveling, taking many trips over time to watch the leaves change in New England, as well as taking many family trips around The United States. She also enjoyed crafts and painting, but most importantly, Lynne will be remembered for the love she had for her Children, Grandchildren, and Church Family.
Preceding Lynne in passing are her parents, and husband of 37 years, Lowell. She is survived by her three children, Bruce Maples of Topeka; David Maples (Rachelle) of Topeka; and Renee Wohletz (Kevin) of Topeka. Lynne also leaves behind three Granddaughters, Sophie Maples; Courtney Wohletz; & April Wohletz. She also leaves behind her sister, Kay Wildman.
Visitation will take place from 5-7pm on Friday, October 20th, at Rolling Hills Christian Church, 4530 NW Hiawatha Place, Topeka. A Funeral Service will be held at The Church on Saturday, October 21st, at 10am. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to Rolling Hills Christian Church.
