Lyle Reber
1943-2021
Lyle E. Reber, 77, of Topeka, KS passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born June 17, 1943.
His parents were Ross and Emma Reber of Morrill, KS.
He was a 1962 graduate of Morrill Rural High School and a 1979 graduate of California State University, Long Beach.
Lyle went to officer training and became a First Lieutenant with an Armor specialty and was the executive officer of a platoon of tanks in Korea.
After his military career, he worked for Coast to Coast Transport, Los Alamitos, CA; he became a senior account executive for Allied Van Lines, Commerce, CA. Lyle returned to Kansas in 1989 and was a senior sales consultant for Rinehart Roofing in Topeka, and served as a training analyst for Logicon/Northrop Grumman at Fort Leavenworth until he retired in 2020.
He was an avid sports fan. He lettered in basketball in high school and enjoyed playing golf, handball, and racket ball throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Janice (Oliver) Bennett; his nephew, James (Mindy) Bennett; his niece, Rebecca Bennett and her Husband Russ Mehl; and two great nephews, Oliver and Graham Bennett; and many extended family members and friends.
Memorial service will be on July 24, 2021 at Parker Price Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. located at 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
Graveside service will be at Morrill Cemetery in Morrill, Kansas at 2:30 p.m. to follow.
