Obituary: Lyle Albert Kraemer
Lyle Albert Kraemer, 70, Topeka, passed away Thurs., Sept. 14, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on March 16, 1936, in Marysville, KS, the son of Everett and Ethel (McLeod) Kraemer. He grew up in Topeka and attended Topeka schools, graduating from Topeka High School in 1954.
After retiring from John Hoffer Chrysler as the Parts Department Manager, Lyle enjoyed his time spent as a parts delivery person for Briggs Dodge and O'Reilly Auto Parts.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Golden Rule Lodge #90, A.F. & A.M., Daylight Lodge #454, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies and the Arab Shrine, where he was a member of the Ritualistic Cast. He was a member and Past Patron of Topeka Chapter #462, O.E.S., and he served as Associate Grand Guardian of Kansas, International Order of Job's Daughters in 1985-86.
Lyle married Marilyn Zicha on November 1, 1958, in Beatrice, NE. She survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn Fernandez.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cheryl "CJ" Crawford and husband, Jay, Topeka; sons Mark Kraemer, Eudora, KS, Steven Kraemer, Kelly Kraemer and Kenneth Kraemer, all of Topeka: four grandsons, Ande Davis and wife Karli of Mankato, MN, Tony Davis of the U.S. Marines, Brian Kraemer of Eudora and Aaron Kraemer of Lawrence, KS; two nieces and one nephew, and many cousins.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wed., Sept. 20, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Indpendence followed by Eastern Star Services conducted by Topeka Chapter #462, O.E.S. Golden Rule Lodge #90, A.F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic graveside services in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Lyle will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
