Lydia Christina Aguilar Aranda, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away unexpectedly from a medical condition on May 26, 2024, at age 41.
She was born to Eleanor Duran and Javier Aguilar in Long Beach California on April 17, 1983. She was raised in Wilmington, Los Angeles by her mother and father, Jaime Duran. Lydia became a mother in 2004 with her first child, Dennis Patterson. She moved to Kansas in 2011 and married Rudy Aranda (since divorced) in 2012. Together they had four children: Lisa, Jason, Dominique, and Rudy Jr. Nothing meant more to Lydia than her role as a mother. Her children were her world and her greatest achievement. Every decision she made, every sacrifice, was for them. She was attentive, nurturing, and endlessly patient as a loving mother. Her strength, resilience, and love for others will not be quickly forgotten. While we are heartbroken, we take some solace in Lydia being reunited with her beloved daughter Dominique.
Lydia is survived by four children, Dennis Patterson, Lisa Aranda, Jason Aranda, and Rudy Aranda Jr., her mother, Eleanor Duran, her father, Jaime Duran, six siblings - Lesley Duran, Christopher Duran, Danielle Aguilar, David Aguilar, Jessica Minor, and Jacob Aguilar, her step-siblings – Adrian Duran and Arianna Duran, her in-law siblings - Anthony and Heather Aranda, Christina Aranda, her mother-in-law Patricia Aranda, her grandmother Janie Rivera and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
