Lula Vivian Chiddix, 89, of Topeka, passed away, Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born October 25, 1915 in Silver Lake, Kansas the daughter, of Ollie and Ellen Day Bailey, Sr.
Lula lived in Silver Lake before moving to Topeka in 1933. She worked at the Supply Depot for 16 years and was a sales representative for Avon since 1963. She was a member of South Knollwood Baptist Church.
She married John Woodrow Chiddix, April 10, 1955 in Topeka, Kansas. He died June 16, 1991.
Survivors include a son, Orville Tibbs, Tecumseh, KS; three daughters, Jan Brown, Hurricane, UT; Sandra Lawhorn, Columbus, OH; Kathy Terhune, Carbondale, KS; three brothers, Raymond Bailey, Topeka, KS; Glen Bailey, Abilene, KS; Ollie Bailey, Jr., Topeka, KS; 15 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka. Interment will be in Half-Day Cemetery.
Mrs. Chiddix will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October, 4, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
