Lucille F. Calabrese, 82, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008.
She was born May 31, 1926 in St. Mary's, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Blanch Gutshall McCleery. She attended the Sandy Hook Country School near St. Mary's, Kansas. Mrs. Calabrese was a homemaker.
Lucille married Nick Calabrese August 28, 1943 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Tena Bengtson (Jim), Nick Calabrese, Jr. (Donna) and Theresa Droge (Jerry) all of Topeka; son-in-law, Bill Housholder; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one expected; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Housholder and a sister, Mary Jacobs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Mater Dei Assumption Church, 204 SW 8th St., where she was a member. Mrs. Calabrese will lie in state after 3 p.m., Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, where a rosary will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Interment will be at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or to Helping Hands Humane Society.
