Louise Scarlett, 85, Topeka, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016.
She was born April 5, 1931, in Oak Hill, Kansas, the daughter of Emery and Edith Haley. She graduated from Delphos High School in 1949 and Clark's Business College in 1962.
Louise was a legal secretary for Gene Hiatt and various attorneys in Valley Falls and Topeka.
On July 18, 1949, she married Harlin D. Scarlett in Arkansas. He survives. Other survivors include their children: Karen (Richard) McConnell, Lecompton, KS and Terry (Debbie) Scarlett, Valley Falls, KS; six grandchildren: Richard McConnell, Jesse McConnell, Chad Scarlett, Brian Scarlett, Jennifer Scarlett Slaughter and Angela Scarlett Hutcherson and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Scarlett.
Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Valley Falls Cemetery.
